ABU DHABI, The Zulekha Healthcare Group on Sunday announced major UAE growth plans for Dubai and Sharjah, which include the expansion of Zulekha Hospital in Dubai and the building of a new hospital in Sharjah.
The announcement was made just before Arab Health 2018, following its successful 25 years in the UAE, which was celebrated in November 2017. Arab Health 2018 is taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between 29th January and 1st February, 2018.
The expansion plans come as part of the UAE’s Vision 2021 for continual investment to build world-class healthcare infrastructures, expertise and services to meet the growing needs of its citizens.
Commenting on the expansion, Taher Shams, Managing Director of Zulekha Healthcare Group, said, “This year’s Arab Health marks an important milestone for us, as we are pleased to be able to announce two major expansions in the UAE to serve the citizens of this country and support the UAE’s Vision 2021.
“Providing quality healthcare services is key to the success of a flourishing society. Our continual investment in health services and innovations highlights our ongoing commitment to the UAE and the health of its people,” he said.
Zulekha Healthcare Group will also be hosting an INNO robot this year at Arab Health, assisting visitors with information about its services and the organisation as a whole. The group is also introducing robotic pharmacies to improve efficiencies in administrative tasks, data collections and customer engagements.
Following the completion of the expansion plan in Dubai, the hospital will have 60 inpatient beds, operating theatres, emergency services and labour rooms, taking its total capacity to 179 beds in 2018. This expansion will give way to the development of multiple centres of excellence. Apart from a comprehensive Oncology Care Unit with radiation therapy services and surgical theatres, the building will provide space for additional Cath Labs, as well.
In Sharjah, the group is planning the launch of its Indian brand in the UAE, as well as the original Alexis Hospital, in Nagpur, India under the umbrella of Zulekha Healthcare Group. The group will introduce this brand to the UAE with a 150-bed facility that will deliver customised services to diverse communities in the region.
