BERLIN, Ali Abdullah Al Ahmed, UAE Ambassador to Germany, hosted a reception, last night, at headquarters of the UAE Embassy in Berlin, to celebrate the UAE’s participation in the International Travel Trade Show Berlin, ITB, 2018.
The reception was attended by Mubarak Al Nuaimi, Direction of Promotions and Foreign Offices at the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, and representatives of several Emirati tourism destinations, as well as Arab and foreign ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps in Berlin, and the delegations and representatives of over 100 tourism companies and hotels in the UAE.
During his speech at the reception, Al Ahmed welcomed the guests while stressing that ITB is a great opportunity for tourism authorities in the UAE to showcase their newly completed and future projects in the tourism sector, which is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative sectors in the country.
He also thanked the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways and Emirates Airline for supporting the country’s delegation in this year’s event and all its participants while highlighting the Department’s desire to have major presence in the event, as well as its new projects and activities that aim to promote co-operation between the UAE and Germany.
The UAE’s prominent position as a leading regional and international tourism destination is due to its diverse tourism products and services, which combine culture, heritage and entertainment, he added.
At the end of the reception, Al Ahmed presented commemorative shields to those that participated in ITB 2018, in recognition of their efforts to develop the tourism sector.
