ABU DHABI, The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, and the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, have discussed the launch of the Hitaf Initiative to support people of determination who are blind or have weak vision, so they might attend sporting events, during a meeting at the ZHO’s headquarters.

The initiative aims to provide people of determination with a verbal commentary during matches, while encouraging their participation through cheering for and supporting the teams at sporting events.

Saeed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director-General for Support Services at the TRA, explained that their support for the initiative is part of a series of activities and charity initiatives related to the TRA’s social responsibility efforts, which rely on the latest technologies and innovative solutions in telecommunication and radio technology. The initiative is also one of their leading programmes for UAE Innovation Month, he added.
