Russian Air Defense Deals with Heavy Drone Attacks in Belgorod

Governor of Belgorod Vyacheslav Gladkov announced that the region bordering Ukraine had been subjected to numerous drone attacks late Wednesday, after an incursion was carried out by Ukrainian forces.

Gladkov noted that the Russian army’s air defense systems dealt with most of the drones, adding that Grayvoron district and the Borisov district of the Belgorod region suffered drone attacks, which caused damage to several private residential buildings.

The city of Belgorod, which has a population of 340 thousand and is located about 40 km east of the Russian-Ukrainian border, has previously been subjected to regular drone attacks since the Russian military operation in Ukraine, where Moscow has accused the Ukrainian army of targeting civilians, but the latter has always refrained from claiming direct responsibility for the attacks.
