A Merchant vessel (suspected to be the Singapore-flagged MT Leopard Sun) was attacked in position: 0326N 05027E (approximately 165nm SE of Hobyo, Somalia) at 2012UTC on 22 FEB 2018 by 3 skiffs. Shots fired at MV, onboard AST returned fire. Skiffs are no longer visual and Master confirms vessel is SAFE.
The vessel had come from Bahrain – OPL Fujairah – Sohar and was enroute towards to Cape Town.
