Jawaher Al Qasimi attends graduation of UoS female students

SHARJAH, Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the University of Sharjah has celebrated the graduation of the Spring 2018 semester female students. The number of graduates reached “601” from the Sharia and Islamic Studies, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, Fine Arts and Design, Communication, Sciences, and Community Colleges.

In her opening speech, Sheikha Jawaher congratulated the graduates and their families for this fruitful work. She also thanked the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy and the distinguished faculty members who form the scientific academic team for their efforts in broadening the students’ knowledge as well as working on supporting their role in serving the community with the necessary disciplines for its advancement.

She addressed the graduating female students saying they are standing this year on one of the highest educational steps which they have reached after days and nights that make up years full of dreams, aspirations and vigorous efforts to achieve the dream that will contribute to their future careers.

She urged the graduates to continue seeking knowledge, education, and culture adding that they are the foundation for the development of the nation. She continued urging the students to surround themselves with noble goals such as keeping their minds enlightened and open to life with its people and events, history, past and present, as well as to find their own stand offering value to society.

Sheikha Jawaher ended her address to the graduating female students by giving them a few encouraging words and advice to have noble goals and an influential presence in society, to be a source of pride to their communities and families, to use their education and knowledge to serve the community and contribute to solving its challenges, and to be dynamic in their views in order to achieve their goals and dreams.

In her speech, Dean of Female Student Affairs Dr. Salama Al Rahoomi congratulated H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, on the graduation of this batch of outstanding students. She also expressed her gratitude to Her Highness for attending the ceremony and welcomed the honorary guest of the ceremony Dr. Manal Taryam Al Shamsi, CEO of Dubai Primary Healthcare Sector and CEO of the Noor Dubai Foundation. She also congratulated the graduates, their families, faculty members and administrative staff, and everyone who participated in this event. She added that the students graduating have been equipped with the best skills and scientific knowledge in order to contribute to the advancement of society and their fields.

Furthermore, she indicated that the University of Sharjah has begun harvesting the results of this educational system at the global and national levels according to reports issued by international organizations specialized in assessing universities performances and receiving recognition for its internationally accredited programs.

For her part, Dr. Manal Taryam Al Shamsi congratulated the graduates and their families on this happy occasion and discussed the most important elements of success; she emphasized that the University of Sharjah has graduated students who are competent in terms of scientific excellence and with the knowledge and expertise they require to succeed in their lives. She highlighted the importance of giving back to the community and role of women in the society and advised the graduating female students to take responsibility and be contributors to the development of the UAE.

Student Fatima Ali Ibrahim from the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences College delivered a speech on behalf of her fellow graduates during which she thanked the University of Sharjah for providing the best educational environment, advanced scientific and research laboratories, and academic resources. She also thanked all the University of Sharjah faculty and staff members for their efforts in advancing the University and developing the students on the scientific and practical skills levels. She continued thanking the graduates’ families for their support throughout their academic journeys and advised her fellow graduates to return this favor by serving the community and the country.
