Hamdan bin Mohammed attends Walk Unified

DUBAI, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council has said that Dubai has made great strides in its drive to ensure full integration, and empowerment of People of Determination, so they can contribute to the country’s development journey, and become efficient member of society as per the directives of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

His Highness’ remarks came as Dubai hosts the Walk Unified initiative of the Special Olympics, which kicked off today in Kite Beach in Dubai, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, and Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the success of the initiative, which promotes social cohesion and reflects the leadership’s prudent vision to empower the People of Determination.

Sheikh Hamdan also said that Abu Dhabi hosting of the Middle East North Africa (MENA) Special Olympics Regional Games is another testament to the UAE leadership in this domain.

Abu Dhabi is to host the Games on 14-29 March 2018, with more than 1,200 athletes expected to take part. The event is for competitors with special needs and disabilities and will take place ahead of the UAE capital’s hosting of the Special Olympics World Games in 2019.
